My country Uganda is a beautiful country, beautiful people, rich cultures, fertile soils, and yet so infamous of its political history. With the up coming presidential elections due early 2011 political tension is building up. Theres a lot of fear in so many Ugandans, of the unknown, the greedy politicians have their eyes open and viciously grabbing whatever they get their hands on, greed for power, lies, hypocrisy, all which usually leave the ordinary citizen both helpless and hopeless. Who should we trust? It is a sad situation, only if our leaders could start caring more about the people than their ever hungry stomachs.

For people that are always on the move doing this and that, this painting describes that special moment when i get a few hours to break away from studio work, domestic, parenthood, sales, and all the busy days of my life and actually have a moment to breath, relax, smell the air, enjoy a quiet moment. Its a special, rare "me time". When you have an overwhelmingly busy schedule most of the year, you learn to appreciate these little special breaks. This painting is a representation of those days and seeing it gives one a sense of relaxation and calmness.
